Does My Wife’s Iranian Citizenship Complicate the I-130 Petition Process?
Location: Oakland, CA
I’m going to submit an I-130 to petition for my wife. I feel comfortable with the typical requirements for an I-130. My question stems from my wife being a dual citizen of Armenia and Iran. Does her being Iranian include any extra complications I need to be aware about? Note that she’ll be applying for the immigrant visa under her Armenian citizenship.
We assist many Iranian families. We do not anticipate delays in processing the I-130. We have not experienced unusual delays in processing of immigrant visas or adjustment to green card with background checks in the past. With the latest terrorism around the world we would anticipate additional vetting of her background for green card processing.
