TCN May Use Premium Processing to Retrieve Passports in Canada

Third Country National May Use Premium Processing to Retrieve a Passport With Visa in Canada

U.S. consular posts in Canada have advised that a visa applicant may request premium processing and pay a $20 fee for delivery and have the passport delivered to the applicant within Canada with a newly issued visa wherever instructed (e.g., to a hotel, family member's home, law office, etc.). This allows the individual to avoid the Canada Post Office identification rules.

U.S. visa applicants in Canada may retrieve their passports with a newly issued visa from a designated Post Office in Canada. The Canadian Post Office has identification requirements for the person retrieving the document. This may include must present at least one designated document; U.S. driver's license, Canadian driver's license, another Canadian government issued photo ID, or foreign passport along with documents such as a utility bill, bank statement, insurance policy, etc. demonstrating residence in Canada.
