Bio

DONALD E. SMITH is an accessible and responsive former corporate counsel and seasoned immigration attorney with a dedication to client service and passion for client success. He provides outstanding immigration counsel to clients with a reputation for successful representations of challenging and complex practice and policy concerns resolving these with creativity and knowledge that combines “out of the box” thinking with hands-on experience from “ground-up” business building. When immigration matters he provides good counsel.

He advises clients on law, alternative strategies, and actions to achieve their immigration goals for matters from the more common HELO visas and less common EB1 Extraordinary and National Interest Waivers including: E, H1B, H2B, L, LZ, O, P, J, TN, K, Q, R and IV EB1, EB2, NIW, EB5, LC and PERM, AOS consular process, naturalization and I-9 Compliance.

As you may know small multinational corporations sometimes face the greatest challenges in meeting their U.S. immigration needs. He has extensive experience counseling small and large multinationals organizations with difficult immigration issues arising from reorganizations, mergers, layoffs and workforce reductions; sophisticated transfers of key personnel using HELO visas, as well as the R and TN non-immigrant visas; obtaining green cards through PERM, as well as expedited EB1 extraordinary ability, EB1 outstanding researcher, EB2 national interest waiver categories; advising on ability to pay, I-9, and public access compliance. He enjoys a long history and commitment to serving small business and large corporations clients alike with expertise in individual matters which allows us to offer a complement of services to our corporate clients with spouses, significant others and/or children in need of immigration benefits.
